GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  Produces and maintains data associated with the base map layers as required by Florida Statute and the Florida Department of Revenue. Updates the geodatabase by using COGO procedures within ArcMap. Analyzes GIS datasets to produce supporting results of values. Keeps GIS layers up to date from various sources. Must be able to develop, update and maintain custom applications to aid in the appraisal process. Must be able to read and interpret various types of land descriptions including but not limited to: meets and bounds, aliquot part, lot and block, and the Public Land Survey System. Develop applications for the assessment process utilizing GIS. Provides technical support of mapping tools/ applications to staff. Performs other related work as needed.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:  A college degree from an accredited college or university with knowledge of engineering, mathematics, geography or geographic information systems (GIS) is desired or equivalent of three (3) years of experience of knowledge in cadastral mapping, property description interpretation and records experience using ArcGIS or CADD, ESRI ArcGIS, ArcMap, ArcCatalog or CAD, and COGO. Experience with ArcGIS for Server, SQL logic, ArcMap Model Builder, Python, databases and general cadastral mapping practices will be considered a plus.
